DEAR DAY
We are having a DEAR day on Thursday. DEAR stands for Drop Everything And Read. We do have a couple of things to do during the day but for the most part we will sit in our comfy clothes (if we paid the $1 to Pennies for Patients' last event,) on our cushy pillows, eat our snacks and sip on an appropriate beverage (high caffeine isn't recommended) and most importantly READ!!!!
As for the iPod/MP3 discussion... Yes, I did say they were allowed, BUT... only if used to block out the other distractions in the room AND if parents said it was okay. The time is for reading and if that is part of your "white noise" it is okay. If it is going to be the distraction that keeps you from reading, please leave it home. I also want you to consider safety. It isn't worth having it get lost or damaged.
Parents are also welcome to stop by and DEAR if they have time!

Mr. O'Brien found this awesome site that walks you through the steps of division!! (The music and the cheering guy are kind of annoying but hit mute - I did!!)
